This page explains how to delete your account in Nubadir (نبادر), the volunteering app for Kuwait developed by Mahmoud Albustan and Fahad AlHajeri, and what happens to your information when you do.
In the app
- Open Nubadir and sign in.
- Tap Profile, then Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete account, then confirm.
Deletion takes effect at once, signs you out on every device and cannot be undone. Before it, you are asked to cancel only two kinds of initiative that have not ended yet, including any already in progress: initiatives you organise that belong to no organisation, and those of an organisation you own that would close because it has no admin. Initiatives of an organisation that continues stay with it, including the ones you organise. The app tells you when this applies.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email info@nubadir.com with the subject “Delete my account” and the mobile number registered to your account. Before deleting anything we contact that number to confirm that the request is yours. We delete the account within 7 days of that confirmation and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your name, the name on your profile, your city, your profile photo and your password.
- Your phone number. It is removed from the account, so the same number can later sign up as a new account.
- Your posts with their photos, videos and locations; your comments, votes and likes; and the comments and votes on your posts.
- The people you follow and block, the reports you made, your notifications, your badges and your monthly rankings.
- Your organisation memberships and helper roles. Invitation links you created stop working.
- Your check-in selfies.
- Your places on initiatives that have not ended yet, which pass to the waiting list.
- Your sign-in codes and every signed-in session.
What is kept without your name
Organisers’ attendance records have to stay correct, so the following stays, linked to an anonymous account instead of your name, phone number or photo:
- Attendance: the initiatives you joined, attended or missed; your check-in time, the position your phone reported at check-in and its distance from the site; and the organiser’s decision. Hours already counted in an initiative’s totals stay in them.
- Initiatives you organised that have ended or were cancelled, under an anonymous organiser. Those you organise for an organisation that continues and that have not ended yet stay with that organisation: its owner becomes their organiser, and its owner and admins keep running them.
- The administrative audit log, which records actions such as attendance reviews and moderation decisions.
- Organisations you own: ownership passes automatically to the organisation’s longest-serving admin, and the handover is recorded in the audit log. If it has no admin, the organisation is closed and hidden, and past verified hours stay on its record without your name.
These anonymous records have no fixed end date yet. A launch waitlist entry on nubadir.com is separate from the app account, so email us to have it removed.
How long it takes
- In the app: immediately. Photos and videos are removed from storage at the same time; if storage is briefly unavailable, removal is retried automatically within a day.
- By email: within 7 days of confirming that the number is yours.
- Backups: copies of deleted information can remain in database backups for up to 90 days, until those backups are deleted.
Deleting only some information
You can remove things without deleting your account: in the app, delete a post or comment from its menu, edit your profile, or turn off Arrival nudge. For anything else, email info@nubadir.com. The privacy notice explains everything we collect and why.
